"Best Hardware/Enclosure Design"
AWARD WINNER

Carwash owners throughout the US have recognized the value of Innovative Control Systems’ advanced point-of-sale terminals since 2002. Now the Self-Service and Kiosk Association has taken notice of the Auto Sentry flex, naming it “Best Hardware/ Enclosure Design” at its annual Expo in Las Vegas on May 5. As reported in Kiosk Marketplace News, “ICS developed the [Auto Sentry] to provide car wash operators with a reliable outdoor performance under a wide range of weather conditions, high-capacity service (approximately 100 transactions per hour), cash dispensing technology and a simple and intuitive user interface. With more than 1,000 kiosks installed, ICS has one of the largest deployments in the country and has captured 75 percent of the express car wash market.” Judges of the Self Service Excellence Awards also touted the kiosks' rugged design and ability to withstand the elements as nudging it above the other entries.

In addition to car wash deployments, the kiosk can easily fit a range of drive-through applications, such as quick-serve restaurants and parking garages. David Cincera, VP of Business Development for ICS, said "We are honored to be a recipient of this prestigious award, given the strong competition and high standards set by the Self Service Expo judging committee."

ICS manufactures sophisticated computer control systems for the car wash industry. The company is widely viewed as the creator of the Express business model for conveyor car washes, using self-service point-of-sale devices to allow customers to select their wash, pay, and then drive directly into the wash. By decoupling labor from the car wash equation, one employee could wash up to 200 cars per hour. Price points fell, speed-of-service increased, car wash volume went up, and profitability significantly improved. ICS’s innovations have changed the carwash industry, and this may be just the beginning.
